Telling the Story of Ragtime in Sedalia, MO

The Scott Joplin International Ragtime Festival is more than a series of concerts. It is a celebration of music, history, community, and cultural heritage.

The challenge was creating content that could communicate not only what happens during the festival, but why it matters. Rather than simply recording performances, the goal was to tell the story of the festival through the voices of musicians, organizers, and attendees while capturing the atmosphere and experiences that make the event unique.

Each year of festival coverage involved planning, on-site production, interviews, photography, and post-production editing across multiple days and venues.

By combining documentary interviews with performance footage and event photography, the final productions were designed to both promote future festivals and preserve the stories and experiences that define the event.
